October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and as it rounds out I thought I would just post a little about why this month is so important to me. Both my Mom and Aunt have battled Breast Cancer and I thank God every day they made it through it. I'm terrified of Breast Cancer and I'm so scared that one day, I too, will be diagnosed with it and this is why it's so important to find a cure. An estimated 182,460 american women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer this year alone.
Don't Forget to:
There are so many ways to help and not just during the month of October but all year round. You can visit Susan G. Komen's website and make a donation but if nothing else go there to learn and become educated on Breast Cancer. It's an amazing website!
There are tons of ways to become part of the fight against Breast Cancer.
eBay Auctions and Munchkin Project Pink are auctioning off Limited Edition Project Pink Bath Ducks in their "Don't Duck a Breast Exam" campaign. Celebrities such as Khloe Kardashian, Courtney Cox and Cindy Crawford have hand decorated these adorable little ducks and ALL the proceeds to go Susan G. Komen for the Cure!
The Breast Cancer Site is a site that helps fund Mammograms for low income, minority and inner city women. Their website is filled to the brim with products you can purchase to help their cause and just by visting this site and clicking the "Click Here to Give - It's FREE" button you are already helping! Shop around and you can help more. Only $3.95 shipping. Every day! My recommendation? The Pink Ribbon running shoes for $29.95 and they come with a Free Bracelet. Seriously, the cutest shoes!
Avon has been supporting the fight against Breast Cancer for more than a decade and have some really great products you can buy to help support this cause. Since 1992 they have raised and awarded more than $585 Million Dollars towards Breast Cancer research and awareness.
You can also find amazing products available from companies like Sephora, Lucy Clothing, Estee Lauder, and The Pink Ribbon Shop. For all you OPI lovers you can help by picking up OPI's Pink of Hearts 2008 Edition Nail Lacquer and proceeds go to Susan G. Komen!

My mom is a survivor, so I totally understand you fear of getting it one day. Hopefully they find a cure soon!
